Ryde Rowing Club Vice President Mike Merritt - who has made a number of significant donations to the Club over many years and negoiated our first "Wightlink" deal turns 60 on August 6th,
To mark this landmark he will be climbing Ben Nevis with the head of the mountain rescue team that brilliantly and courageously goes to the aid of nearly 100 walkers and climbers on the Ben each year.
Not having a head for heights, will make it more of a challenge for him – especially after they re-calculated the height of Britain’s highest mountain by nearly four feet this year to 4413 feet!
He is appealing to club members join him in making a contribution to Lochaber Mountain Rescue and you can do so on the following links http://www.lochabermrt.co.uk/support-us/ andhttps://www.justgiving.com/lmrt/Donate
