Ryde Rowing Club welcomes new members, whether they are new to the sport of rowing; relocating into the area; back from university for the summer; or are coming back into the sport after a longer break. Whatever your reason you will find us to be a friendly and very social club to join.

We are primarily a coastal club with river facilities offering recreational and competitive rowing to male and females of all ages – from juniors – starting at around twelve years old through to adults and masters - including a small adaptive section. We welcome new members throughout the year and our team of volunteer coaches are here to help you learn to row. It’s not necessary to have any rowing experience to join Ryde however if you have already rowed before we’re here to give you your next challenge.

Rowing is an exciting, challenging sport. It requires a combination of technique, physical fitness, and teamwork.

The Club has a fleet of over twenty-five coastal and river boats including coxed and coxless fours and quads, coxless pairs and doubles, single scull and training sculls. Apart from our main clubhouse in Appley Park at Ryde – which includes social facilities including a club priced bar and function rooms – with disabled access – plus boat storage, changing rooms with showers, and a fully equipped land training area we also have a boathouse facility at the Folly giving us access to the River Medina for training – as well as in the sea off Appley beach.

If you are interested in trying rowing as a competitive sport or for exercise and leisure then we suggest you come along and give it a try, without any commitment on your part for the first few sessions. If you enjoy the experience and feel this may be the sport for you then you can make an application to join the club. We have a range of membership categories available at very reasonable rates of subscription.
